What Is Instrumentation Installation?

The use or application of instruments to observe, measure, or control is called instrumentation Installation. It is measuring instruments that are used for indicating, measuring, and recording physical quantities.

How Does Instrumentation Installation Work?

Instrumentation Job includes testing, calibration, installation, repairing, and inspecting manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices. Instrumentation is used to measure many physical parameters; they are,

Process Of Instrumentation Installation Work

Sensors are incorporated into measuring instruments used for indicating, measuring, and recording physical quantities, this is the process of instrumentation.  

For Instrumentation Installation Work, the documents we might need to prepare are Planning Schedule, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly progress, Daily meetings for construction progress, Client and Contractor meetings, and Contractor and subcontractor meetings.

Process Of Instrumentation Installation Work

Installation Of Instrumentation

When the piping/equipment scope is ready for Instrument installation, Instruments will be installed.  The instrument team will start installing instruments on equipment and piping when work fronts are ready.

It is as per Instrument Installation and Pneumatic hookups, we install  Instrument tubings with the necessary slope and bend.

It is through Pneumatic hook-ups and installation drawings Direct installation or remote installation will be identified. Then we check Accessibility for O&M activities.

Installation Of Junction Boxes

It is according to the JB location layout we will install Junction boxes and the Field Instrumentation team will check for the nearest possible distance to connect Instruments to junction boxes by field instrument cables.

For installation, we will also use JB installation drawing, and Accessibility for O&M activities should be checked at last.

Installation Of Field Instrument Cable Tray

Based on the cable tray routing layout we will install the Instrument cable tray. And we will identify the shortest possible distance for field cable routing.

Multicore Cable Routing

To lay multicore cable connecting Junction boxes Cable trenches will be dug and after that Marshalling cabinet is installed in the Control room.

For this we will use Cable routing layout, Junction box termination, marshaling cabinet termination details, Control room cable entry details, and drawing details. And to avoid any clashes with other systems, electrical cable routing, underground piping details, and structural drawings will be referred to.

Fiber Optic Cable Routing

For installation Fiber optic cable routing details will be referred to. the route of the pipeline will be selected if it is routed parallel to the pipeline.

To identify the depth, and breadth of cable trenches, Cable tiles, etc, Underground Cable Installation details are used. And based on this drawing, cables will be installed and backfilled.

Control Room

As per the Control room equipment layout, Control system panels, ESD panels, Fire and gas panels, Marshalling cabinets, Operator screens, Servers, Vendor panels ( Metering, Compressor, Analyzer, Vibration), PCs, Engineering PC’s control room furniture, etc are installed.

Under the false flooring of the control room Multicore and power cables are to be installed and the Control room civil building layout will also be referred.

Cable termination from Instruments to Junction box and junction box to Marshalling cabinets

For this activity Junction box termination, details and Marshalling cable termination details will be used.

Quality Control

The Quality Control Engineer will visit the site and identify and approve the process after the completion of each activity.
